Boston Pride Presents Pride Lights

Pride Lights, a signature tradition of Boston PrideWeek, will take place on Tuesday, June 4 at Blackstone Square Park,1535 Washington Street, Boston's South End, from 6 - 8 pm.

Pride Lights will feature performances by Queens With A Mission and Vocal Oppositions, music and the illumination of trees strung with pink lights. The tree lighting ceremony is meant to commemorate departed friends, family and coworkers and to increase awareness of the HIV/AIDS epidemic, which is still affecting the community today.

This year's event will be hosted by longtime supporter of PrideLights, drag legend Verna Turbulence.

This event is in collaboration with the City of Boston and Boston Pride. This event is free and open to the public and will take place rain or shine.

The night will feature Verna Turbulence, Queens With A Mission, LGBTQI all male dance crew, Vocal Opposition, Boston's very own protest choir.

Boston Pride produces events and activities to achieve inclusivity, equality, respect, and awareness in Greater Boston and beyond. Fostering diversity, unity, visibility and dignity, we educate, communicate, and advocate by building and strengthening community connections. Boston Pride Week 2019 takes place from May 31 — June 11.
