Celtics honor South Ender Marc Davino

On April 22, Marc Davino was honored on April 22nd, 2021 when the Boston Celtics faced off against the Phoenix Suns.
As a founding member of The Boston Gay Basketball League (BGBL), Marc Davino, who previously served as the league's commissioner, has helped to develop a safe, non-discriminatory space for LGBTQ+ athletes and allies.
The BGBL is a non-profit organization founded in 1994 to create a competitive basketball environment for the Boston LGBTQ+ community and its allies. The BGBL is free from discrimination based on race, religion, creed, gender, national origin, or sexual orientation, with special emphasis on the participation of the gay community.
Marc Davino was honored as a Hero Among Us for his role in fostering safe and healthy spaces for the LGBTQ+ community in Boston to live, play and thrive.
Since its establishment in 1997 by the Boston Celtics, The Heroes Among Us program has recognized outstanding individuals who have made exceptional and lasting contributions to their communities. The award is presented at every Celtics home game and pays tribute to the heroic achievements of these outstanding citizens.
