Drug Arrest Made in Mass and Cass Area

Boston Police arrested a 55-year-old Dorchester man on drug trafficking charges following an investigation near Massachusetts Avenue and Albany Street on Saturday afternoon.

Officers from the citywide Neighborhood Engagement Safety Team (NEST) were conducting an on-site drug investigation in the area around 12:00 PM when they observed behavior consistent with street-level narcotics activity, including what appeared to be hand-to-hand exchanges between individuals.

During the investigation, officers made contact with a woman who discarded a small plastic bag containing a white rock-like substance. She was summonsed to Roxbury District Court for possession of a Class B substance.

Officers continued monitoring a male suspect who was observed engaging in additional suspected drug activity. Based on their observations, officers located the suspect inside a nearby business and arrested him without incident.

Police recovered approximately 10 grams of fentanyl, 7 grams of crack cocaine, 19 grams of marijuana, and an undisclosed amount of U.S. currency.

The suspect is expected to be arraigned in Roxbury District Court on charges including trafficking in fentanyl (more than 10 grams), possession with intent to distribute a Class B substance, distribution of a Class B substance, and possession with intent to distribute a Class D substance.
