Boston Children's Chorus — Winter Fest Open Rehearsals

Boston Children's Chorus (BCC) is inviting prospective singers and families to a wintery open rehearsal experience. On Saturday, February 28, 2026, both Lower Choir and Upper Choir rehearsals will be open to students considering joining for the remainder of the 2025—2026 season. Participants can observe a full rehearsal, meet singers and staff, and explore a BCC rehearsal space. The event also includes winter-themed games, a chance to win a prize, and a surprise seasonal treat. Space is limited and advance sign-up is required. More information: bostonchildrenschorus.org

Cathedral High School — Mentor Opportunity

Cathedral High School is seeking alumni and community members to serve as mentors for 10th-grade scholars as they begin early college and career exploration. Mentors help students build real-world skills including time management, agency, and informed decision-making. Hurley K—8 School Playground Fundraiser

Students at the Hurley K—8 School are fundraising for a long-overdue playground renovation, with construction planned for summer 2026. The final phase of the campaign focuses on funding a dedicated play area for children ages 3—5. The space has not seen a meaningful upgrade in more than 20 years. Reclaiming History Exhibit Launch Party

A new exhibit celebrating the stories and resilience of Boston's Chinatown, Little Syria, and New York Streets neighborhoods will launch with a public event featuring performances, food, and community storytelling.

Animal Rescue League of Boston — Temporary Entrance Update and Donations

The Animal Rescue League of Boston's main walkway at its South End location is temporarily closed due to construction on a new shelter. The organization remains open at 10 Chandler Street, with a temporary entrance located to the left of Boston Veterinary Care, marked "Animal Admissions." The change is expected to last at least one week, weather permitting. Donations of towels, sheets, blankets, food, and other soft goods are always needed and greatly appreciated.

Boston Jazz Foundation — Francisco Mela Duo Concert

The Boston Jazz Foundation, in collaboration with New England Jazz Connections, presents its first concert of 2026 featuring the Francisco Mela Duo. Cuban-born drummer and composer Francisco Mela will perform alongside Boston-based guitarist Tommy Liu for an evening of Afro-Cuban—influenced contemporary jazz and improvisation.
