17 Year-Old Arrested in Possession of a Loaded Firearm in South End

At about 10:15 PM, on Saturday, December 3, 2022, officers assigned to District D-4 (South End), initiated a traffic stop in the area of Washington Street and Rutland Street that resulted in the firearm arrest of a 17-year-old male juvenile from Boston.

While on patrol, officers observed a motor vehicle without its lights illuminated, traveling on Washington Street near West Dedham Street. Officers activated their emergency lights and sirens to safely stop the motor vehicle. Officers made contact with the licensed driver and after further investigation recovered a loaded firearm from the male juvenile passenger. The firearm was determined to be a 9mm loaded with one round in the chamber and fifteen rounds in the magazine.

The 17-year-old male was arrested and charged with; Delinquent to wit; Unlawful Possession of a Firearm and Delinquent to wit; Unlawful Possession of Ammunition. He is expected to be arraigned in Boston Juvenile Court.
